This past January I had the pleasure of working with the ByWard Market BIA on the promotion of the Winterlude Stew Cook Off.
During my social media interviews with participating restaurants, I had the opportunity to meet Chef Chris Butterworth of The Red Lion.
Not only did Chris make a stunning dish to be featured for the promotion of the cook-off but he introduced me to a wonderful new program called Mealshare.
He quickly described to me that Mealshare restaurants choose menu items that when purchased, the restaurant donates a plate to Ottawa youth.
You heard that right buy one plate, give one plate!
I was very enlightened by the idea and the fact that Mealshare was active here in Ottawa.
Mariam Zohouri, Ottawa Community Leader and I met for lunch to discuss the program and look how we can work together in getting more restaurants involved and feeding more of our youth in need.
In Ottawa, Mealshare supports Operation Come Home and the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa.
I am excited to announce that I will be working closely with Mariam and Mealshare Ottawa on some very exciting projects in the near future!
